Bait crab "Fishing troops" (4 hooks) the author's handmade wobbler / balancer perfectly attracts pike and other predatory fish in combination with a wooden fishing rod. Catches it. Verified.
The "crab" moves forward when rising up from the swing of the fishing rod. When dropping (lowering the fly rod down), it goes away in a circle with fluctuations. Despite its frightening, even sinister appearance, the "Crab" almost always catches a pike by the mouth. Only very rarely, a predator that has attacked the bait and missed is detected by the lower jaw.
Far Easterners have been using "crabs" since the "grandfather's time". After all, his game (just a game, not a simple up-and-down movement) is more like the last movements of a dying fry than the fussy wobble of newfangled baits. Of the new things in its design, recently only the use of twisters instead of wool tails has become fixed (silicone does not get wet, and therefore is not covered with ice when pulling the bait onto the ice). Fishermen experiment with this on their own, based on the characteristics of the fishing site.
It happens that instead of silicone or together with it, a natural bait is planted on the back hook of the crab - a piece of fish fillet (sliced from the belly of a fish, popularly called "snot") or a pike fin.

With a good bite, the pike attacks prey from the head and therefore more often gets caught on the front hooks, which cover the eyes of the bait. A sluggish pike comes much closer to the bait and often examines it for a long time before making a careful grip.
